6 lb spareribs
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1/2 cup soy sauce
Juice of 1 lemon
2 cloves garlic, crushed
Brown spareribs in a hot (450 degree F) oven for about 15 min
Pour off fat
Mix ginger, soy sauce, lemon & garlic to make sauce
Pour over ribs
Reduce oven temp to 325 deg F
Cover & bake for 1 1/2 hrs, basting often
Serve with Hot Mustard Sauce

1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup wine vinegar
1/8 tps salt
1 cup Colman

2 Tbsppeanut oil
2 Tbspfermented black beans, rinsed & drained
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 Tbsprice wine
1 tps sugar
1 1/2 tpss cornstarch
Heat a wok or heavy skillet over medium-high heat
Add the oil, the black beans & garlic
Stir-fry about 12 seconds
Add remaining ingredients & stir-fry about 1 minute or until sauce thickens
Lemon Ice
Lemon Ice (Granita di Limone)
Use only the colored portion of the lemon peel to avoid the bitter white pith
2 cups water
1 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon finely shredded lemon peel
1 cup lemon juice
Heat water and sugar to boiling; reduce heat
Simmer uncovered 5 minutes
Remove from heat; stir in lemon peel and juice
Cool to room temp
Pour into 9 x 5-inch loaf pan
freeze 3 to 4 hours, stirring every 30 minutes
Serve in chilled dessert dishes
If ice is not to be served immediately, cut into 1/2-inch chunks; place in bowl
Cover and freeze until serving time
Yields 8 to 10 servings
