Basic Asian Brown Sauce

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1 cup chicken broth
2 Tbspsoy sauce
1 clove garlic, finely chopped

In a saucepan, mix sugar & cornstarch
Stir in chicken broth & soy sauce
Cook & stir until mixture bubbles
Lower heat & add chopped garlic
Cook until thickened
